Aeolian Sand Test with True Triaxial Stress Path Achieved by Pseudo-Triaxial Apparatus

چکیده

Aeolian sand is a special roadbed filler, but its three-dimensional mechanical properties are rarely studied. To obtain the characteristic of deformation, strength on deviatoric plane, and failure in three dimensions, series triaxial drained tests aeolian Tengger Desert, under condition constant average principal stress, p, were conducted by an equivalent alternative method to achieve true stress path pseudo-triaxial apparatus. The results show that can better determine strength. peak shear decreases gradually with increase intermediate coefficient, b, at same p. Compared SMP Mohr–Coulomb criteria, near lines predicted both criteria. At lower specimen exhibited strain-softening behaviours, higher it showed hardening behaviours. Under conditions p contraction first then dilatancy. deformation greatly affected anisotropy, as p-value increases, effect initial anisotropy begins weaken. εs (generalized strain)/η (stress ratio)-εs curves, be expressed linear equation, which slope b-value. experiment verifies feasibility rationality method. test data provide support for maintenance desert roadbeds sustainable development economy society ecologically fragile areas.

strength evaluation of wet reinforced silty sand by triaxial test

conventional investigations on the behavior of reinforced and unreinforced soils are often investigated at the failure point. in this paper, a new concept of comparison of the behavior of reinforced and unreinforced soil by estimating the strength and strength ratio (deviatoric stress of reinforced sample to unreinforced sample) at various strain levels is proposed. a comprehensive set of labor...

Scale Model Simulation of Hydraulic Fracturing for EGS Reservoir Creation Using a Heated True-Triaxial Apparatus

Geothermal energy technology has successfully provided a means of generating stable base load electricity for many years. However, implementation has been spatially limited to rare high quality traditional resources possessing the combination of a shallow high heat flow anomaly and an aquifer with sufficient permeability and fluid recharge. Enhanced Geother‐ mal Systems (EGS) technology has bee...

Triaxial Galaxies with Cusps

We have constructed fully self-consistent models of triaxial galaxies with central density cusps. The triaxial generalizations of Dehnen's (1993) spherical mass models are presented, which have densities that vary as r −γ near the center and r −4 at large radii. We computed libraries of ∼ 7000 orbits in each of two triaxial models with γ = 1 (" weak cusp ") and γ = 2 (" strong cusp "); these tw...

Triaxial behavior of sand-mica mixtures using genetic programming

This study investigates an application of genetic programming (GP) for modeling of coarse rotund sand– mica mixtures. An empirical model equation is developed by means of GP technique. The experimental database used for GP modeling is based on a laboratory study of the properties of saturated coarse rotund sand and mica mixtures with various mix ratios under a 100 kPa effective stresses, becaus...

Triaxial Black-hole Nuclei

We demonstrate that the nuclei of galaxies containing supermassive black holes can be triaxial in shape. Schwarzschild’s method was first used to construct self-consistent orbital superpositions representing nuclei with axis ratios of 1 : 0.79 : 0.5 and containing a central point mass representing a black hole. Two different density laws were considered, ρ ∝ r−γ , γ = {1, 2}. Only non-chaotic o...
